Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the appointment.  Clients will be liable to a cancellation fee of 50% for any appointment cancelled within 48 hours of the appointment. If a 'no show' or same day cancellation occurs, clients will be liable to pay the full consultation fee. This includes the travel cost for a 'no show'.

Hobbs Chartered Physiotherapy reserves the right to cancel/ rearrange appointments without fee, however a new time and date for the appointment will be provided.

Animal Clients

Hobbs Chartered Physiotherapy will:

  • Assess and treat your animal once Veterinary Surgeon consent has been gained, in line with the 'Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966'. Animals that require maintenance or routine check-up physiotherapy and do not have any underlying conditions or injuries do not require Veterinary Surgeon consent as per 'Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, 2022'. However, your animal must be registered with a veterinary practice.
  • Undertake thorough assessment prior to treatment, and for complex cases, the initial assessment may include assessment only followed by treatment at the next appointment.
  • Explain physiotherapy assessment and treatment, outling the role of the treatments, along with associated benefits and risks.
  • Provide a home exercise programme to be completed between sessions. These are not complusory, however failure to complete may result in delaying the achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Liaise with the animals registered Veterinary Surgeon, whether this is to update on the physiotherapy or to address any areas of concern. This can include referring back to the Veterinarian for further investigation if deemed neccessary.
  • Store personal information and assessment/treatment notes as per General Data Protection Regulations.

Veterinary Physiotherapist's are required to treat under Veterinary referral in accordance with the 'Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966' and 'Exemptions Order 2015'. Therefore all clients require referral from their Veterinarian prior to appointments. This MUST be completed by the client prior to appointment, else physiotherapy cannot commence. As stated above, if the appointment is for maintenance or routine check-up only, consent is not required.

Human Clients

 Hobbs Chartered Physiotherapy will:

  • Complete thorough assessment in line with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy's code of practice.
  • Discuss findings with you and treat in line with the CSP’s code of practice, explaining what is involved including any benefits or risks. You may decline any of the treatments proposed, without prejudice.
  • Contact your GP (if required) to discuss findings and ongoing action. Consent would be obtained prior to this.
  • Store personal information and assessment / treatment notes as per General Data Protection Regulations and HCPC guidelines.
